Meet The Warm Valley Lodge Director – Dr. Ann Green
Dr. Ann Green, a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of clinical experience, has been named Director of Warm Valley Lodge, and she will over-see a well-trained staff that includes nine Certified Nursing Assistants, a Registered Dietician, and a Dietary Manager, as well as maintenance and housekeeping personnel.
Dr. Green has worked with elders since beginning her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 1970. After completing her undergraduate education in 1984, she was awarded a Certificate of Gerontology from Northeast Louisiana University in 1989. She received both her Masters and Doctorate degrees in nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and in 1992 was board certified as a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner.
In addition to providing primary care to residents in regular long-term care facilities, skilled units, and Alzheimer’s special units, Dr. Green has also practiced primary care in medical clinics in Louisiana, Arkansas, as well as at the Dubois Medical Clinic.
“I think my love for seniors stems from my close relationship with my paternal grandmother,” explains Dr. Green in describing her work in geriatrics. “She had a terrible deformity of her spine that I never even noticed until I was almost in my teens, but her inner beauty and wisdom overcame any outward imperfections.
Continuing, Dr. Green states, “I have come to realize that all of my geriatric clients become family, just like my grandmother, and all have a ‘story to tell’ and a lifetime of memories to share. Living at Warm Valley Lodge will allow them to do that, and I look forward to being part of their story.”
Under Dr. Green’s supervision, residents at Warm Valley Lodge will have 24-hour nursing care and supervision. Any necessary primary care services will be provided in the Lodge; additional care and therapy are available in the Dubois Medical Clinic and at Teton Therapy, both located adjacent to Warm Valley Lodge.
Both ambulance and emergency helicopter flight service are available to hospitals in Jackson and Riverton.
